Jane Birkin Thinks Her Skin Is 'Two Sizes Too Big'

"Style icon" is one of those overused fashion phrases we've come to loathe but when it's used to describe Jane Birkin (which it often does) we can't protest. She's kinda the ultimate style icon, having inspired everyone from next-gen style icons like Alexa Chung to designers like Jason Wu. She even has her own iconic bag: the Hermès Birkin (which she's rather unfussed about, frankly).

But even an icon like Birkin has stuff she wants to change about herself. The English actress was the most recent celeb to take Vanity Fair's Proust Questionnaire, and among answers about which historical figure she relates with most (Eleanor of Aquitaine) and who she despises most ("Fascists worldwide") were some funny quips about her looks.

"My skin is two sizes too big," she said when asked which one thing she would change about herself. "[I would] get skin back to 38!" (She also hates the "mean lines round the mouth"--they don't look mean to us!)

We think Birkin is as gorgeous as ever--see the above photo!--but we do love that she would get her skin back to 38 rather than, say, 20. And the woman who gave birth to another major style icon--Charlotte Gainsbourg, whose father was French singer Serge Gainsbourg--wouldn't say who was the love of her life. Juicy!
