Skincare Menu: Combination Skin
Combination Skin

What It Is:

“The concept of combination skin is that you’re oily in some places and dry in others,” Rouleau says. “You don’t necessarily want to use two different routines, but instead find one in the middle of the road.”

Morning Menu:

Cleansing Gel: See oily skin (if your skin starts getting too dry, you can switch to a cleansing lotion).

Toner: See oily skin.

Lightweight Moisturizer: “Combination skin doesn’t need an oil-free moisturizer, but it does need a lightweight one,” Rouleau says. Try Eve Lom’s TLC Radiance Cream ($72) for silky texture with antioxidants.

Zinc Oxide Sunscreen: See oily skin.

Nighttime Menu:

Cleansing Gel: See above.

Toner: See above.

AHA/BHA Serum: See oily skin.

Retinol Serum: See oily and dry skin.

Lightweight Moisturizer: See above.

À La Carte:

Clay Mask: Since combination skin only tends to get oily around the t-zone, focus on that area only when using a clay mask.

Face Oil: Face oils can do wonders for combination skin—save it for nighttime, however, to avoid an overly dewy face in the a.m.
