New Burt's Bees Lipstick.
New Burt's Bees Lipstick.

If you get just one beauty product this month, I think it should be the new Burt's Bees Lipstick. Except I don't know how you're going to narrow it down to just one shade! All 14 are gorge, and there are at least six that are going straight into my regular rotation. My top picks: Sunset Cruise (soft coral); Nile Nude (warm nude); Fuchsia Flood (hot pink); Magenta Rush (raspberry); Blush Basin (your-lips-only-better pink); and Suede Splash ('90s soft brown). They pack a nice amount of pigment and hydration, but the texture is lightweight, semi-sheer and with a tiny bit of shine. Also 100 percent natural... good job, Burt's Bees!

Ingredients: Diheptyl Succinate, Ricinus Communis(Castor) Seed Oil, Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer,Cera Alba [Beeswax], Candelilla Cera [Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax], Behenyl Alcohol, Oleic/Linoleic/Linolenic Polyglycerides, C12-18 Acid Triglyceride, Lanolin, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cera Carnauba [Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax], Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Seed.

2. Urban Decay Color Correctors

New Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid.
New Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid.

I already mentioned how much I like these Urban Decay Color Correctors in my colour-correcting makeup tutorial, and demonstrated how to use them. They're just really goof-proof. They apply like a creamy concealer (think NARS Creamy Concealer) and blend out beautifully, neutralizing any skin tone concerns. There are five to choose from: Yellow corrects dullness and minor redness; Pink brightens darkness; Green reduces redness; Lavender balances sallowness; and Peach masks dark circles and dark spots. I probably like the Yellow one most. It's an extra step, yes, but it's crazy how these make your complexion look so much better!

Ingredients (Yellow): Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Dimethicone, Dimethicone/PEG-10/15 Crosspolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Acrylates/Dimethicone Copolymer, Boron Nitride, Lecithin, Magnesium Sulfate, Nylon-12, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Caprylyl Glycol, Lauroyl Lysine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hexylene Glycol, Aluminum Hydroxide, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Dipropylene Glycol, Sodium Citrate, Steareth-20, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopherol, Chlorhexidine Digluconate, N-Hydroxysuccinimide, Potassium Sorbate, Chrysin, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7. [+/- (All Shades May Contain: Mica, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491/77492/77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77007 (Ultramarines), CI 77288 (Chromium Oxide Greens)].

3. L'Oréal Mascara

L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara.

Oh my goodness, the new L'Oréal Butterfly Sculpt Mascara was MADE for me. I've been a fan of the highly underrated Butterfly line for years, but this is the best version yet, because it's all about tightlining. The brush has a comb that deposits more of the formula at the roots to give the illusion of thicker lashes, just like you'd do with eyeliner. It actually gives your lashes kind of a tiny tug as you pull it through—a sensation you may be familiar with from higher-end mascaras. However, this is the first time I've seen it in a drugstore product, and I'm so impressed. I really, really, really like this mascara!

Ingredients: Aqua / Water / Eau, Paraffin, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Cera Alba / Beeswax / Cire Dabeille, Copernicia Cerifera Cera / Carnauba Wax / Cire De Carnauba, Acacia Senegal / Acacia Senegal Gum, Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Phenoxyethanol, Peg/Ppg-17/18 Dimethicone, Steareth-20, Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol, Sodium Polymethacrylate, Propylene Glycol, Rayon, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Hydrogenated Palm Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Silica, Disodium Edta, Polyquaternium-10, Soluble Collagen, Panthenol, Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate, Atelocollagen [+/- May Contain / Peut Contenir Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499 / Iron Oxides Ci 77007 / Ultramarines Mica Ci 75470 / Carmine Ci 77891 / Titanium Dioxide Ci 77510 / Ferric Ferrocyanide]

4. SkinCeuticals Matte Sunscreen

SkinCeuticals Physical Matte UV Defense Sunscreen.

If you're looking for a mineral sunscreen that a) isn't whitening and b) doesn't turn your face into an oil slick, the new SkinCeuticals Physical Matte UV Defense Sunscreen could be your answer. Specifically designed for normal-to-oily and combination complexions, it contains aerated silica, which absorbs up to 15 times its weight in oil (!!). It is so weightless on the skin, you really don't feel anything. (Note: There is dimethicone in here, too, but it doesn't have the typical slippery feeling at all.) You get broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection from nine percent titanium dioxide and four percent zinc, and it has a universal tint that flatters (and subtly evens out) all skin tones. Such an elegant formula!

Ingredients: titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, dimethicone, c12-15 alkyl benzoate, talc, dicaprylyl ether, triethylhexanoin, isohexadecane, dimethicone crosspolymer, styrene/acrylates copolymer, hydrogenated jojoba oil, dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer, aluminum stearate, peg-8 laurate, triethoxycaprylylsilane, silica silylate, 2-oleamido-1,3-octadecanediol, alumina, aluminum hydroxide, iron oxides, disodium stearoyl glutamate, polyhydroxystearic acid

5. Sephora Hair Ties and Bobby Pins

Sephora Collection Quick Fix Hair Ties in Minimal Maven and Bobby Pins in Finishing Touch.

Are you still using elastic bands for your ponytails? Make the switch to kinder, gentler ribbon ties, and your hair will thank you! I'm always on the lookout for new colours, and for spring I love the nautical vibes of Sephora's limited-edition Minimal Maven Hair Ties set in black, white, gold and navy. They've also got some metallic Bobby Pins that are a little more chic than the regular Goody kind. I love using multiple visible bobby pins at once for a deliberate graphic hair statement, and these would be perfect for that.

Tweezerman Birds of a Feather Mini Slant Tweezers in Flamingo.

Have you ever seen tweezers so cute? Didn't think so. For a limited time, Tweezerman is selling this flamingo-adorned pair of Mini Slant Tweezers (that's their classic style). I tend not to even touch my own brows anymore, lest I mess up Mary's good work, but I cannot resist this pattern! And the price is very right.

7. St. Tropez Instant Bronzing Lotion

St. Tropez One Night Only Wash Off Face & Body Lotion.
St. Tropez One Night Only Wash Off Face & Body Lotion.

Last month, I mentioned Benefit's commitment-free alternative to self-tanner, and now here's St. Tropez with another. One Night Only can be used on face or body to impart an instant hint of matte colour, but washes off easily with soap and water. I tried Light/Medium (it also comes in Medium/Dark) and found the colour very natural-looking; it's always my fear that these things will make me orange! Even better is how quickly it dries down to nothingness—not even any scent—and won't transfer onto your clothes. The only thing is, I feel like I'll use up this tube quickly... but it's definitely faster and a lot more pleasant than streaky, stinky self-tanner.

Ingredients: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Phenoxyethanol, Isohexadecane, Benzyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 80, Mica, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Linalool, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene, Carboxaldehyde, Geraniol, Citronellol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Eugenol, Hydroxycitronellal, CI 77492 (Iron Oxide), CI 77499 (Iron Oxide), CI 77491 (Iron Oxide), CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide).

8. Clarisonic Mia Fit

Clarisonic Mia Fit Skin Cleansing System.
Clarisonic Mia Fit Skin Cleansing System.

I've mentioned here and there on the blog that the Foreo Luna 2 is my favourite cleansing gadget. Well, now Clarisonic has come out with a new brush style that looks a little bit inspired by Foreo. Compared to the OG Clarisonic, the Mia Fit is smaller, cuter, more comfortable to hold in your hand, and more portable. You'll still need to be vigilant about keeping the nylon bristles hygienic, but I'm liking this design a lot better! It comes in blue, white and pink, with two speed settings.

9. Ballet Beautiful Nail Polish

Formula X #ColorCurators Ballet Beautiful Edition Nail Polish in Satin Slippers.

Formula X has been doing a lot of collabs lately, and I wasn't really paying attention—until this Ballet Beautiful Nail Polish crossed my desk! First of all, ballet. You got me there, Sephora. Second, I love a neutral nail that isn't boring. So I'm very into this semi-pearly champagne shade called Satin Slippers (which isn't as pink IRL as it looks on the website). I don't think this photo does it proper justice, actually. There's also a lilac and a one-coat wonder metallic grey.

10. Origins Mask Primer

Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer.
Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer.

What the heck is a mask primer, you ask? It's a little gimmicky, but Origins Maskimizer is meant to be used as a pre-treatment, before you apply your face mask, so you can get the most out of it. You spritz it on, and it deposits a lot more liquid than the average face mist, so your skin is very saturated in the glycerin-algae mix. It makes your skin feel immediately softer and more hydrated, which in turn makes any masks you put on top easier to spread and rinse off. If you're big into masking, and find your face often feels dry when you remove them, this might be worth a look. I even like how it feels just on its own, mask or no mask—ha!

Where to buy: Sephora

Ingredients: wateraquaeau, butylene glycol, glycerin, ectoin, gellidiela acerosa (algae) extract, camellia sinesis

11. Nip + Fab Makeup Removing Pads

Nip + Fab Kale Fix Make-Up Removing Pads.
Nip + Fab Kale Fix Make-Up Removing Pads.

I can't live without my Nip + Fab glycolic pads, so I was excited to try the Make-Up Removing Pads from the brand's new Kale Fix line. (Wasn't that impressed by the kale mask or moisturizer, FYI.) The kale is really just marketing, but that doesn't mean these aren't a lovely cleansing tool for your arsenal. They don't have acid in them, so are not going to exfoliate, but they're a great way to remove your makeup and hydrate/soften at the same time. I would use these in conjunction with a regular cleanser, either before or after; they'd even be great at the office for when you need to quickly re-do your makeup before heading out for the night. Note: It says there is fragrance in here, but I don't smell anything.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water/EAU), PEG-6 Capryliic/Capric Glycerides, Glycerine, Gluconolactone, Sodium Benzoate, Allantoin, Cetrimonium Bromide, Butylene Glycol, Parful (Fragrance), Nasturtium Officinale Extract, Benzyl Salicylate, Calcium Gluconate, Brassica Oleracea Acephala Leaf Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Citric Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Sorbate.

12. Essie Taj-Ma-Haul Nail Polish

Essie Nail Polish in Taj-Ma-Haul.

This shade looks questionable in the bottle, I'll give you that. But please don't judge Taj-Ma-Haul by first appearances, because it's the most awesome colour once it lands on your fingernails! This is from Essie's India-inspired resort collection, and they describe it as "spicy apricot marigold," which might be the best description I've ever read. I love oranges and corals, and this one is especially unique.

13. Stila Convertible Color Palette

Stila Convertible Color Dual Cheek & Lip Palette in Sunrise Splendor.
Stila Convertible Color Dual Cheek & Lip Palette in Sunrise Splendor.

Here's a sweet buy for Convertible Color addicts! You get five of Stila's cult-favourite, multi-purpose shades in one Cheek & Lip Palette. There are two colour harmonies: Sunrise Splendor (above) is the cool-toned palette, and Sunset Serenade is warm-toned. I appreciate that they took the guesswork out of choosing lip and cheek shades that go together. Makeup artists just love these; my favourite is pressing them into the lips for a just-bitten effect.

Ingredients (Sunrise Splendor): Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Lanolin Oil, Beeswax (Cera Alba), Octyl Dodecanol, Microcrystalline Wax, Phenyl Trimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Ozokerite, Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Glycerides, Octyl Palmitate, Isononyl Isononanoate, C-12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides, Bht. (+/-) Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499), Red 7 Lake (Cl 15850), Red 28 Lake (Ci 45410), Red 30 Lake (Ci 73360), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140), Red 22 Lake (Ci 45380).

14. Bliss Climate Control

Bliss Climate Control.
Bliss Climate Control.

New beauty gadget alert! Bliss has come out with something I've never seen before: a hot and cold wand! At the touch of a button, Climate Control either heats up or cools down in just three seconds; there's also an optional sonic vibration mode for each, should you want a bit of massage action. They suggest using the hot setting after cleansing, to help your serums and creams absorb; I'm also thinking it would be good for when you need to extract a pimple... if you must. The cold mode can help reduce puffiness and redness; they say it also shrinks pores but I don't know about that. Anyway, I really like this tool! The temperature changes aren't wimpy at all, and it feels very relaxing. Definitely a handy thing to have around as an adjunct to your skincare routine.

15. Lancôme x Lisa Eldridge Palette

Lancôme Auda[city] in Paris Eyeshadow Palette.
Lancôme Auda[city] in Paris Eyeshadow Palette.

Lisa Eldridge fans, this one's for you! The makeup artist, YouTube star and creative director for Lancôme chose the 16 shades of the new Auda[city] in Paris Eyeshadow Palette. There's a bit of everything here—mattes, shimmers and metallics—and the shade range is neutral and wearable. I find the amount of pigmentation just right, not too bold nor too sheer. By now, I'm sure most of us have at least a palette (or five!) at home, but this is a very nice edit, especially if you like classic shadow looks. And of course, it's a sweet tribute to Lisa.

Ingredients: Talc, Triisostearin, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Magnesium Stearate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Silica, Alumina, Caprylyl Glycol, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Polyurethane-11.

16. L'Oréal Root Cover Up

L'Oréal Paris Root Cover Up Temporary Grey Concealer Spray.
L'Oréal Paris Root Cover Up Temporary Grey Concealer Spray.

It used to be that you could only buy temporary root concealer at the hair salon. So I think it's genius that L'Oréal has entered this category with Root Cover Up, available at the drugstore. It is not a dye, just a tinted spray that dries in seconds to cover up either grey or mismatched roots, and washes out with your next shampoo. I tried the Dark Blonde in between colourings and I think it worked well to even out the difference between my natural hair colour and my blondified hue. Unlike dry shampoo, this doesn't feel sticky or powdery, and it comes in six shades!

Ingredients: Hydrofluorocarbon 152a, Butane, Ethyl Trisiloxane, Isobutane, Iron Oxides, Calcium Carbonate, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Methyl Trimethicone, Triethoxycaprylsilane

17. Live Clean Shampoo and Conditioner

Live Clean Vitamin Multi Boost Shampoo and Conditioner.
Live Clean Vitamin Multi Boost Shampoo and Conditioner.

As you know, I'm all abut sulfate-free shampoo these days. I also try to avoid silicones in my conditioner, if possible (which is even harder). So, a happy new discovery is the Live Clean Multi Boost line, which ticks off both boxes! This Shampoo and Conditioner would suit all hair types, as they're not super-rich nor super-light. (The texture of the Shampoo is particularly cool; it's like a milky gel, in between clear and creamy.) World Clean Hair & Skin Cleanser and Deep Conditioner are still my absolute favourites; that's a professional-quality line with an even better ingredients list. But this Live Clean range is a great alternative at a more affordable price point.

18. Intraceuticals Eye and Lip Masks

Intraceuticals Eye and Lip Masks.
Intraceuticals Eye and Lip Masks.

To wrap up our list, here is an amazing Eye Mask and Lip Mask from Intraceuticals. They're the skincare line that put oxygen facials on the map, and these patches are sort of like a quick-fix version, at home. They are slightly cooling and much wetter than other patches I've tried; they also won't tug on your skin at all—in fact, it's best if you lie down so they don't slide off your face. When you peel them off, you're left with super-hydrated, smooth skin that is perfectly prepped for makeup. I'm a little mad I wasted my only samples just testing these at home! I should have saved them for a special occasion—they were that good.

Conclusion

My goodness, that was a long list this month! If you do nothing else, you MUST check out the lipsticks. I'm also very partial to the mascara, colour corrector and, well, so many things here...
