With cold weather coming, why not light up your nails with shimmer details, flecks of gold, and OTT medieval vibes that rival a Dolce & Gabbana runway show.

Sometimes a touch of sparkle is all you need. Try this silver-dipped look by applying glitter polish to your tips, and gradually fading it into a bare half moon. Design by @naominailsnyc

Nail artist Frédérique Olthuis gave her negative nail a subtle shine. To get the look, paint a clear base coat and let dry. Add a thin, black stripe at the half moon. When tacky, add metallic flat sequins to the strip and seal it with a clear top coat.

Here's another one for negative nail enthusiasts. Try this monochrome look by painting your half moons black, then add a swooping splash of white to one side of the nail.

Combining the nail super forces of glitter polish and ombré is nail artist Bel Fountain-Townsend's "Glitter Bombre." Fade your favorite shades of gold and copper from left to right for this high-shine look.

Self-proclaimed "nail artist connoisseur" Asa Bree Sieracki created this Asian-inspired look that has us in awe. Get the look by painting a white base, leaving your half-moons bare. Once dry, add details like bamboo shoots and cherry blossoms in royal blue. Finish with a top coat.
